ChatGPT says real-time data from web3, dePIN sources would optimize its potential

Com­bin­ing AI lan­guage mod­els with decen­tral­ized and real-time data is becom­ing increas­ing­ly impor­tant in arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence and blockchain tech­nol­o­gy. One of the most promi­nent exam­ples of this is Chat­G­PT, an advanced con­ver­sa­tion­al AI sys­tem that has achieved state-of-the-art results in nat­ur­al lan­guage pro­cess­ing tasks.

Accord­ing to IoTeX Co-Founder and Head of Blockchain Research Dr. Xinx­in Fan, cryp­tog­ra­phy, engi­neer­ing, AI/ML, and cyber­se­cu­ri­ty expert, The lack of real-time data lim­its ChatGPT’s accu­ra­cy and con­sis­ten­cy of the data it cur­rent­ly receives from var­i­ous sources.

“Pulling real-time data from smart devices and blockchain tech­nolo­gies could incen­tivize com­mu­ni­ties to gath­er trust­wor­thy and accu­rate infor­ma­tion for Chat­G­PT in exchange for cryp­to, NFTs, and oth­er Web3 rewards,” said Fan. “Tra­di­tion­al­ly, IoT data is cen­tral­ized and col­lect­ed for busi­ness pur­pos­es, mean­ing Chat­G­PT could not ben­e­fit from it directly.”

Chat­G­PT con­firmed it has no access to real-time data. “As an AI lan­guage mod­el, I can­not access real-time infor­ma­tion and news beyond my train­ing data cut­off of Sep­tem­ber 2021.”

Fan reit­er­at­ed that blockchain and oth­er advanced Web3 tech­nolo­gies, such as W3bstream, have the poten­tial to incen­tivize com­mu­ni­ties to gath­er more reli­able and accu­rate real-time and real-world data for ChatGPT.

Web3 rewards More trust­wor­thy data in exchange thanks to rew

And “sec­ond­ly,” it added, “by pro­vid­ing users with Web3 rewards in exchange for their data, Chat­G­PT could poten­tial­ly incen­tivize users to pro­vide more high-qual­i­ty and rel­e­vant data, which would improve the qual­i­ty and accu­ra­cy of the model’s responses.”

ChatGPT’s fur­ther considerations

When asked what W3bstream could do for Chat­G­PT, the AI lan­guage mod­el agreed with Dr. Fan “real-time data capa­bil­i­ties can sig­nif­i­cant­ly improve ChatGPT’s effi­cien­cy and accuracy.”

OpenAI’s appli­ca­tion said, “cur­rent­ly uses a large knowl­edge base and infer­ence sys­tem to answer user ques­tions based on a huge amount of data col­lect­ed from var­i­ous sources. How­ev­er, the accu­ra­cy and con­sis­ten­cy of the data are lim­it­ed by the qual­i­ty of the data from a sin­gle source of truth. Using W3bstream to gath­er data from mul­ti­ple sources makes the data more trust­wor­thy and accurate.”

“More­over, W3bstream can help Chat­G­PT access data that is not eas­i­ly avail­able or hard to access. Over­all, this can lead to a more pow­er­ful con­ver­sa­tion­al AI sys­tem trained with more accu­rate, con­sis­tent, and trust­wor­thy data sources,” it added.

Decen­tral­ized com­pu­ta­tion net­works can also facil­i­tate the com­pu­ta­tion­al require­ments for pre-train­ing or fine-tun­ing these models.”

Rev­o­lu­tion­iz­ing AI

The inte­gra­tion of Chat­G­PT and decen­tral­ized and open-source tech­nolo­gies has the poten­tial to rev­o­lu­tion­ize AI by enabling the devel­op­ment of advanced decen­tral­ized AI applications.

Dr. Fan shared an exam­ple: “Chat­G­PT could use this advanced tech­nol­o­gy to get more accu­rate envi­ron­ment data for a cer­tain geo­graph­ic region. For exam­ple, Chat­G­PT could use real-time weath­er data to pro­vide more accu­rate, up-to-date infor­ma­tion. Still, only W3bstream cur­rent­ly makes that pos­si­ble in a trust­wor­thy, secure, scal­able, and pri­va­cy-pre­serv­ing way.”

ChatGPT’s lan­guage gen­er­a­tion capa­bil­i­ties and W3bstream’s decen­tral­ized infra­struc­ture can be used to build secure and pri­vate chat­bots that can com­mu­ni­cate with smart devices and per­form tasks such as con­trol­ling smart home appli­ances and mon­i­tor­ing health data which users can also mon­e­tize via Web3.
