Tag Heuer Adds Support for NFT Watchfaces on Smartwatches
Tag Heuer watch brand is about to take a new step in its Web3 exploration. The Swiss Luxury watch label will let its users select non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as a watch face. The feature will be facilitated in Tag Heuer’s ‘Connected Calibre E4’ smartwatch. Metamask, an NFT-storing wallet service provider, has been collaborating to wire these NFT watch faces. The advancement comes after Tag Heuer lately opened payments in 12 cryptocurrencies encompassing Bitcoin and Ether, among others.
NFTs from prominent series comprising the Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunk, Clone-X, and World of Women will be exhibited on these watches.
A shadow of animated particles can also be seen roaming around these NFT screensavers. The watch brand furthermore shared a peek of these NFT wallpapers on Twitter.
Crypto wallets from Ledger will be linked with the Calibre E4 smartwatch to save and display NFTs.
Holders of this smartwatch will need to update their watch software through Google’s Play Store and Apple App Store.
Frédéric Arnault, who is the CEO of TAG Heuer, said that “I have had a deep interest in the NFT space, and this feature fits with TAG Heuer’s tradition of being avant-garde and innovative in technology,”
NFTs are known as digital collectibles, which are built on blockchain webs. Several blockchains comprising Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon are utilized to base NFTs.
In May, Tag Heuer roped in BitPay crypto payment assistance provider to enable crypto payments for Tag Heuer watches costing as huge as $10,000.
