Influencer Trades Porsche GT3 for 18 Digital Telegram Gifts

TON influencer Lucha and Portals marketplace co-founder Roxman have exchanged a Porsche 911 GT3 for 18 rare digital gifts within Telegram.

In a comment to ForkLog, the deal participants stated that Roxman invested approximately $20,000 in purchasing Telegram gifts, which he traded for a car valued at over $350,000.

The idea for the exchange developed through posts and polls within the crypto community. Users debated the question: “Is it worth trading digital gifts for a Porsche?”

On August 23, Lucha posted a photo of the car with branded wrapping, featuring logos of the game Major, the Telegram messenger, and the platform’s digital gifts.

“Apparently the joke went too far. Buying tickets to Dubai,” wrote Roxman in response to the post.

Rising Value of Telegram Gifts

The first NFT gifts on the TON blockchain appeared in Telegram at the end of 2022. The TON Gifts service was launched by a team of independent developers.

On October 5, 2024, Telegram introduced a feature for sending gifts using Stars, the messenger’s internal currency.

In recent months, the value of some collections has significantly increased:

• Plush Pepe — from $30 to $12,000;
• Durov’s Cap — from $15 to $2,500;
• Swiss Watch — from $1.5 to $190.

In April, Telegram head Pavel Durov acquired Plush Pepe #1 valued at 14,850 TON ($47,000 at the time of purchase on the secondary market).

In July, rapper Snoop Dogg released the music video Gifts, dedicated to the gifts, and also introduced several NFT collections on TON. They sold out in less than an hour, generating $12 million in revenue.

According to Dune, the market capitalization of Telegram gifts stands at about $160 million. The record daily trading volume reached $9 million.

Portals’ Success

The gifts are traded on several marketplaces, the largest being Portals. The platform holds 50–60% of all trading volumes.

The marketplace offers cashback, a points system, and regularly conducts collaborations with brands.

“What started as $10 experiments has turned into assets valued at the level of luxury cars. The Telegram ecosystem is rapidly evolving, and the growth rate is only increasing,” noted project representatives.

Roxman launched Portals in May 2025. The influencer is also the creator of the social game Major, which has attracted 70 million users. The project’s token, MAJOR, is traded on Bybit, OKX, Bitget, MEXC, and other exchanges.
