Tezos Ecosystem Brings Digital Art Heritage and Innovation to NFT Paris
Digital Art History Meets Web3: Paintboxed – Tezos World Tour
The “Paintboxed – Tezos World Tour” arrives at NFT Paris following its Miami debut during Art Basel. From February 13–14 at Booth A4 (9/11 rue Edgar Varèse – 75019 Paris), open daily from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, visitors can get hands-on with the Quantel Paintbox, a $250,000 machine that shaped 1980s visual culture. Don’t miss the panel at the NFT Paris conference venue at 2:40 titled “How the Paintbox revolutionized digital painting” featuring pioneers of digital art in France.
The Paintbox was the tool behind MTV’s iconic logo and the first CGI music video for Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing.” It even caught the attention of traditional art world giants – David Hockney created his first digital artworks on the Paintbox in 1987, more than a decade before his famous iPad drawings. Keith Haring also experimented with the machine in 1985 during an ABC TV segment in New York. The exhibition at NFT Paris gives visitors a rare chance to see one of the few remaining functional Paintboxes, and selected artists will create new works that will be minted as NFTs on objkt.com.
In a special highlight event, digital art pioneer Kiki Picasso will return to the Paintbox for a live painting session at Grande Halle de la Villette on February 14 (16:00 – 18:00 CET). A founding member of Bazooka and one of the first artists to experiment with the Paintbox, Picasso was featured in the groundbreaking 1985 documentary “6 Peintres sur Ordinateur.” The performance reunites the Parisian founders and artists of CVF—France’s 1983 Digital Villa Medici—for the first time in nearly 50 years.

The topic “Tokenization & Asset Management: Unlocking the Power of Real-World Assets,” will explore the emerging potential of tokenized assets, with a special focus on XU3O8 tokenization. Art on Tezos: Down the Rabbit Hole
The Artverse Gallery (5 bis Rue de Beauce, 75003 Paris) becomes a hub for creativity on February 13 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The evening begins with a series of talks featuring voices from across the digital art landscape such as NFC Summit Lisbon Founder John Karp, artist and DJ Agoria, curator Anika Meier and gallerist Albertine Meunier. The panel discussions run from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by exhibition viewing and networking until 10:00 PM. The gallery’s three floors will each house distinct programming: Scene’s “Eclipse” on the ground floor explores digital light and shadow, while Cyberforms presents “Deck of Hearts” on the basement level, presenting 14 artists on the upcoming Valentine’s day theme. Those interested in the event can sign up via link: https://lu.ma/ArtonTezos.
World of Women, part of the Tezos Ecosystem, adds to the Art on Tezos evening with a Valentine’s-themed celebration on the top floor. The centerpiece is “The Manifesto Series,” featuring three new commissioned artworks by renowned artist Amber Vittoria, each accompanied by original poetry: “The Future Isn’t Something We Wait For,” “Shaping An Era,” and “Creation Is Our Magic.” These works, inspired by the WoW Manifesto, reflect the organization’s mission to close social and financial gaps for women leaders in art, tech, and culture.
Love, Art & Pizza: World of Women Valentine’s Experience
A day later, on February 14th, in a playful twist, WoW has partnered with PizzaDAO to combine art viewing with pizza making – visitors can mint free NFTs while crafting heart-shaped pizzas. The organization is also holding a prize draw that includes signed prints, original artwork, and a World of Women Galaxy NFT. Those who can’t make it to Paris can still participate in the prize draw through affc.club during the event dates.
The final event with Good News Studio is on February 15th at Artverse Gallery with exclusive fireside chats, including a panel featuring WoW Product Lead Shelley Mannion.
