Unique Coffee Table Book? ‘On NFTs’ Takes Blockchain Art to Paper: Review
Not so long ago, NFTs were all anyone could talk about. Short for “nonfungible tokens,” they provide a way to track ownership using blockchain technology—and, thus, a way to attach value to sundry items by guaranteeing authenticity. NFTs were quickly applied to everything collectible, from bottles of wine to sneakers, but their most radical utility was attached to insubstantial treasures, like a video clip of LeBron James dunking.
This captured the imagination of digital creators, who seized on NFTs to monetize and protect their work, and suddenly a JPEG’s value wasn’t deflated when it was copied over and over.
