Friendzone Launching on Polygon PoS to Lead Social Media’s Web3 Transformation

Friendzone, a decentralized social marketplace, announced that it will bring its premier social app into the Polygon PoS ecosystem. Spearheaded by the early team members from Band Protocol, Synthetix, and Koinly, Friendzone is positioned as the pioneer in the social dApp space. The strategic collaboration signifies a significant milestone for the up-and-coming social platform as it sets Friendzone to be a leading social dApp industry-wide.  The teams will work closely to leverage the Polygon PoS infrastructure to build the consumer and social applications that will pave the way forward for Web3 mass adoption.

Following Friendzone’s launch on the Polygon PoS chain later this month, they will aim to broaden their scope to include Polygon zkEVM. This move will facilitate cross-chain syncing and composability for Friendzone, laying the groundwork for an entire comprehensive ecosystem of consumer and social applications to be developed on the Friendzone platform.

The Friendzone team is excited to collaborate with Polygon Labs, and tap into their ecosystem expertise to explore new use cases, ways to accelerate SocialFi innovations, and to explore as yet unknown territories in the nascent decentralized social space.

These innovations will be instrumental for growth as the Friendzone platform expands onto Polygon’s zkEVM, tapping into the network effects of a growing ecosystem and bringing with it an avid user base.

“Our vision has always been to revolutionize the social media landscape through the power of Web3 technologies. Choosing Polygon PoS as our first blockchain was a strategic decision rooted in our shared commitment to scalability and our alignment in the development of consumer-centric Web3 applications. ” said Kevin Lu, CEO & Co-Founder of Friendzone, “The infrastructure not only aligns with our mission but also enhances our capabilities, propelling us to lead the way in Web3 adoption.”

Polygon Labs has distinguished itself in the blockchain landscape with a strong commitment to innovation and a remarkable history of strategic collaborations with global brands. As Friendzone prepares for launch, its integration into the dynamic Polygon ecosystem is anticipated to drive the development of groundbreaking applications, alliances, and new opportunities for innovation in the Web3 industry.

Friendzone will also shine a spotlight on the emerging concept of SocialFi for Web2 experts, illustrating what enhanced capabilities a Web3-based platform can have in the field of social media.  The speed and scalability of the Polygon PoS network will further Friendzone’s ability to convert social engagement and influence from recognition to monetization, benefiting creators and providing them with more ways to interact with their communities with built-in micro-economies.

“At Polygon Labs, we are constantly on the lookout for innovative teams that push the boundaries of what’s possible in the Web3 space. Friendzone caught our attention as a standout team with a proven track record in building and scaling Web3 products.” said Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, “Friendzone is at the forefront of a new era for social media that leverages the full potential of Web3 to offer unparalleled user experiences, creator monetization, and community engagement, and we are excited to see this vision coming to life on Polygon.”

Friendzone’s early ambitions on Polygon PoS demonstrate yet another example of the growing influence social media has in the Web3 economy. The technology’s ability to utilize tokens helps influencers to offer more to their communities.  Fans, for their part, are incentivized through reward sharing and can support their favorite creators through direct contributions, but can also have the opportunity for more personalized interaction with creators, digital/physical merchandise, and exclusive events for key supporters.  This level of reach, customized interactions, and decentralized platforms ensure that both creators and their communities have a far superior experience.
