Zynga’s First NFT Game “Sugartown” Generates Over $5 Million in Sales in Three Weeks

Zynga’s first NFT game, “Sugartown,” which was launched in August 2023, has generated over $5 million in sales in just three weeks. The game is developed by Zynga, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive.
Within the three-week timeframe, the game access tokens called Oras, which grant access to the game, have seen trading volume of over 3,000 ETH (approximately $5 million), according to OpenSea. The current floor price for Oras is around 0.267 ETH, as reported by OpenSea.
Take-Two, the developer of the popular game franchise “Grand Theft Auto,” acquired Zynga, the creator of the highly popular game FarmVille. In August, both companies announced “Sugartown” as the first web3 game of the company.
Players can use Oras, an Ethereum token (or ERC-721), to access “Sugartown” and “harvest energy,” which helps players earn in-game currency, the company stated at the time.
The success of “Sugartown” is a signal that major game companies are increasingly turning their attention to NFT games.
