“I can’t say what will happen next year, but I told the cyclists to keep their team,” said Pierre Lavoie, in interview Saturday morning on LCN.

Beautiful conditions

The weather greatly helped the participants throughout this adventure and this was the case once again on Sunday. On the eve of their departure to McMasterville, at 7 a.m., the sky was sunny in Bromont and the temperature felt to be 16 degrees Celsius.

All the athletes covered the remaining 35 km towards Varennes , where they were expected in the afternoon.

The 1 million kilometers together

More than 65,913 participants were registered for the fourth edition of the 1,000,000 million kilometers together. In total, 1,035,264 kilometers were collected by participants during the days of June 9 and 10.

This event aims to encourage people who did not participate in the Grand Défi to move throughout the weekend by either walking, running or cycling.

Saturday morning, the population of Quebec City was invited to take a walk of three kilometers starting from the PEPS of Laval University. Nearly 2,000 walkers were present, including the mayor of the Old Capital, Bruno Marchand.
