The marketplace went on beta testing last December on the Ethereum and Solana blockchains. With the public launch, Kraken NFT now includes collections from Polygon, such as the “red-hot Reddit collectible avatars.”
Kraken wants to make its marketplace appealing to professionals and beginners alike. The Kraken NFT ecosystem includes defining collections like CryptoPunks, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), and several affordable offerings. It hopes to build a community by pursuing the most active communities in the NFT space and offering features like built-in rarity rankings to provide insights into the listings.
Kraken notably improves NFT accessibility by offering gas-free NFT trading across all supported blockchains, with options to pay in fiat or crypto using Metamask or Phantom. However, gas will be incurred when migrating NFTs in and out of the platform.
Kraken’s press release also noted a partnership with the Formula 1 Williams Racing Team. “We’re excited to get the partnership underway to offer our fans cutting-edge crypto and Web3 experiences while also enabling Kraken to reach new institutional clients and businesses through our network and events.” said Mayur Gupta, Kraken’s chief marketing officer, in the press release.
