The just-settled $41 million Avon Court represents a significant upsize from the couple’s neighbouring property. The landmark four-level, lift-connected Victorian mansion features nine bedrooms, seven bathrooms, gymnasium, steam room, two swimming pools, a playground, a mini soccer field, a 10-car basement garage, and six kitchens.

Avon Court sold through Kay & Burton’s Grant Samuel, alongside co-agent Chen Sun, of Ascend. Both agents declined to comment on the recent sale or buyers, citing a nondisclosure agreement.

According to his LinkedIn, Mr Egorov is based in Switzerland, so whether the couple intends to connect the properties and create a sprawling Australian base – or simply upgrade over the fence – remains to be seen.

Sunrise star Mark Beretta and wife Rachel have sold their Mosman home.

While the final sale price remains undisclosed, it is understood to be slightly under the initial guide.

The three-bathroom, four-car home was the product of an extensive renovation by the couple alongside Matt Gibson Architecture.

Selling agent, Atlas’ Michael Coombs, said interest in the Mandolong Road property spiked in the last week.

“We had a lot of interest from local buyers, an expat, and some from the eastern suburbs,” he said.

“It’s quite a surprising house when you walk through the door – it has a luxury resort feeling, as it’s very private – big view, spa downstairs, new pool, sauna.”

North shore record

On Sydney’s leafy upper north shore, Killara has clocked a new suburb record, with a sale just shy of the $20 million guide offered for the Springdale Road property.

It’s a big jump on the previous $16.5 million suburb high set by a Stanhope Road estate in 2021.

The sale marks a tidy windfall for vendors Simon Choi and Xinrong Li, who bought the seven-bedroom mansion for $16.3 million in July 2021.

Selling agent Lisa Davies, of Ray White, said there was stiff competition for the property, which was secured a week out from the EOI campaign closing and came down to the most favourable settlement terms.

“It’s an indication of the strength of the upper north shore prestige market, and in large part it’s due to the increase in overseas buyers following the opening up of China,” she said.

The sale comes about a month after the upper north shore cracked $20 million when the Virgona family sold their Warrawee home.
