Crypto prices today: Bitcoin below $27,000 threshold, top altcoins decline

On Thursday, most of the cryptocurrencies were trading with cuts. Bitcoin, the world’s most popular crypto, is currently priced at $26,818.18, down by 2.18 percent. Its closest peer, Ethereum, fell by 1.67 percent to $1,827.30 over the last day.
Other top altcoins also witnessed price declines today. XRP decreased by 1.35 percent, Cardano lost 1.90 percent, Polygon dipped by 1.07 percent, Solana dropped by 2.03 percent and Litecoin reduced by 4.60 percent, at the time of writing this article (1030 IST).
Bitcoin’s dominance is currently 46.2 percent, while that of Ethereum is 19.6 percent. The global crypto market cap slumped by 1.88 percent to $1.12 trillion. Meanwhile, the total crypto market volume lost 4.14 percent and now stands at $28.73 billion.
Gainers and decliners
Kava was today’s top gainer, climbing by 8.61 percent over the previous day, followed by Toncoin, which increased by 5.30 percent. Other gainers include Huobi Token, Neo, etc.
Contrastingly, Mask Network was the top loser of the day, down by 8.28 percent from the previous day, according to Coinmarketcap. Conflux, Sui, and Woo Network were among the other top decliners.
On the other hand, Pepe was the most trending crypto of the day.
Meme coins in the red
Today, the value of meme coins also decreased. Elon Musk’s favourite, Dogecoin was trading at $0.07148, shrinking by 2.92 percent in the past 24 hours. Another canine-based meme coin, Shiba Inu, lost 1.91 percent to $0.0…08711.
Metaverse tokens down
A majority of the metaverse tokens observed declining trends today. Internet Computer lost 4.15 percent, The Sandbox decreased by 4.75 percent and Decentraland dwindled by 3.92 percent. However, ApeCoin gained 0.29 percent, while Render Token was up by 1.00 percent over the last day.
