Jack Butcher, the creator of the creative firm Visualize Value, has released his latest NFT project, featuring the iconic Checks grid and exploring the four classical elements of earth, fire, water, and air.
The NFT project, which Butcher started as a critique of the social effects of blue checkmarks, has evolved into a neighborhood movement.
Bringing New Innovation to the NFT Ecosystem
Jack Butcher is unveiling a new art collection called Checks Elements, which combines generative art with hand-drawn tangible prints.

When Butcher created the Checks VV non-fungible token (NFT) collection earlier this year, he had no intention of making large profits or generating excitement in the NFT market, which was still reeling from a prolonged crypto winter.

The initiative, motivated by the widespread use of blue checkmarks on social media to indicate verified accounts, has gained enormous popularity.
It has earned 1,820 ETH (nearly $2.9 million) in secondary sales on OpenSea and has inspired several derivative works by the NFT community, elevating it to meme status.
Butcher’s new Checks Elements is a 152-piece collection of generative art inspired by the traditional elements of air, earth, water, and fire.
Each item in the series is a distinctively algorithmically generated composite of the colors representing these elements and explores the “ever-evolving relationship between consensus and truth.”
When asked where the idea for using elements developed, Butcher states it came from him and his friend Martin Klipp, the CEO of Beyond Art Creative.
In an interview with Coindesk, he stated that until he spoke with Milant and comprehended his method, translating checks into physical artwork didn’t feel like it was truly sustaining the project’s DNA.
Butcher sees elements as a development of the concept of utilizing checks as a decentralization symbol, continuing the narrative.
He claims that describing the physical world in terms of its constituent elements felt appropriate.
The trademark four-by-four check grid was etched onto a printing plate to produce the actual prints.
Based on the computational results developed by Butcher and his colleagues, each paint hue featured in the collection was gradually added.
Also, Butcher’s fingerprint verified each physical art piece and came with an Ethereum-based NFT.
Plans for the Art Collection
Three of the four “Alpha” elements, which include air, earth, and water, will be auctioned separately by Christie’s auction between May 16 and May 23.
Butcher’s 24-hour collection will be auctioned off from May 24 to 25 following the initial auction.

The last element, fire, will be included in the 24-hour collection. A portion of the sale’s revenues will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Physical prints will be mailed to buyers of the 152 Checks Elements works from either auction on June 24.
Butcher says that the community’s support was the only factor in this achievement. He remarked, “I’ve never encountered anything like it before,” while appreciating the opportunity to learn and share the experience with others.
According to him, owners of Checks, Opepen, and Visualize Value 1/1s will be eligible for unique participation in the auctions for Checks Elements.
Owners of Checks, Opepen and VV 1/1s will receive “Infinity Check” bidders editions for each auction tier they participate in.
One check collectors will receive a full set of editions wether they participate or not, as will those who participate in Alpha and Christie’s auctions. pic.twitter.com/SgsJqaqfd8

He noted that they would receive “Infinity Check” bidders’ editions for each auction tier they take part in.
However, regardless of participation, One Check collectors, and those who participate in the Alpha and Christie’s auctions, will each receive the whole collection of editions. Out of the potential 250 “One Checks,” only 31 remain.
