The Pokémon Corporation is seeking a NFT to join their team.

The Pokémon Company has an opening for a Web3 and blockchain specialist.

The company has thus far resisted the temptation to cash in on its successful franchise by creating blockchain video games, but that may soon change.

The Pokémon Company has recently posted a position for a new department director on their careers board, and they are specifically interested in candidates with knowledge of NFTs and blockchain technologies.

The official name of this position is “Corporate Development Principal,” and it’s located in the Bellevue, Washington, office of The Pokémon Company International in the United States.

Whoever fills this role will be responsible for managing the company’s relationships with internal and external businesses and advising the executive team on corporate strategy.

Applicants are expected to have “a deep knowledge and understanding of Web 3, including blockchain technologies and NFT, and/or metaverse,” in addition to 12 years of relevant experience.

To be included in the listing, applicants are required to have access to NFT and blockchain investor networks.

Although the job description implies that The Pokémon Company will be working on NFT games, it doesn’t explicitly state that they will be doing so.

Although this doesn’t prove anything, it does imply that the company is at least considering the possibility.

New Financial Tokens (NFTs) are a form of digital token that are kept in a distributed ledger called a blockchain.

The technologies have been criticized in the gaming community for their negative effects on the ecosystem and their perception of doing little to improve security.

However, many game publishers, including Ubisoft and Square Enix, have released or attempted to release NFT games, frequently to the dismay and ire of their respective fan bases.

Before this year, the Pokémon Company sued an Australian NFT game for using Pokemon characters and creatures without permission.

“The Pokémon Company and Nintendo had made a deliberate decision not to launch any Pokémon NFTs,” a company attorney said in the lawsuit filing.

At this time, no NFT-related projects have been announced by The Pokémon Company or its parent companies, Nintendo, Game Freak, or Creatures.
