Topps sells out of Garbage Pail Kids ‘Non-Flushable Token’ Cards with a Crypto theme

The latest Garbage Pail Kids (GPK) non-fungible token (NFT) collection takes aim at the crypto sector, roasting topics including the LUNA collapse, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and Cryptopunks, amid the hysteria associated with the FTX collapse. Following the release, GPK’s parent company Topps notes that the “Non-Flushable Tokens” packs have sold out on the business’s NFT marketplace website.

The changes in floor values between the two illustrious NFT collections, Cryptopunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club, were also covered by Bitcoin.com News (BAYC). On November 17, 2022, BAYC’s floor value will still be more than 8 ETH higher than the present Cryptopunks floor value.

Characters with a crypto-theme, such as “Diamond Hans,” “Paper Hans,” “Airdrop Angel,” and “Bored Adam Yuck Club,” are included in 2022 GPKs.
This month has seen a decline in cryptocurrency market prices as a result of the FTX scandal driving prices of digital assets to two-year lows. Sales of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have decreased by 19.61%, according to data from cryptoslam.io, compared to sales last week.

The sweets and collectibles company Topps, a branch of Fanatics Collectibles, launched new Garbage Pail Kids (GPK) NFT packets referred to as “Non-Flushable Tokens” throughout all the crazy cryptocurrency market swings and the sheer monkey business. The packs of GPK NFTs, which were released on November 17 and make fun of the crypto industry and other blue chip NFTs in the trademark GPK style of humour, are already sold out.

The four “toilet tech” cards from the set, which include the characters “Airdrop Angel,” “Maya Mask,” “Bridget Troll,” and “Proof of Steak,” are also included. The out-of-print collection of cards included 144 one-of-a-kind collectibles in addition to GPK characters with a crypto theme, such as “Bored Adam Yuck Club,” “Cryptopukes,” “Gassie Infinity,” and “LUNA-tic.”

For instance, a four-season “seasons of crypto” set is included in the 2022 Topps GPK Non-Flushable Tokens. Characters such as “Crystal Winter,” “Sproutcoin Spring,” “Hot Coin Summer,” and “Faith Fall” can be found on the four “seasons of crypto” GPK cards.

With collections including MLB digital trading cards, Bundesliga NFTs, Mars Attacks digital collectibles, Godzilla vs. Kong blockchain assets, and Bazooka gum NFTs, Topps has been releasing NFTs for a while.

The parent company of the business, Fanatics, also distributes NFTs via Candy Digital, and Funko has released Digital Funko Pops, therefore the company is not the first collectibles company to do so. The hilarious characters have been utilising blockchain technology since 2020, therefore the GPK “Non-Flushable Tokens” are not the first GPKs to appear on the blockchain.

Customers who bought packs of Topps’ “2021 Garbage Pail Kids Food Fight” at Walmart and Target received physical versions of the GPKs in addition to NFTs that required a code for redemption.
