In celebration of International NFT Day on Sept. 20, Snoop Dogg and Method Man are releasing a new song through the TuneGo platform as non-fungible tokens, part of the emerging Web 3 concept in which the internet moves away from corporate control and toward decentralization.

New Old School Remix by Method Man featuring Snoop Dogg will be released exclusively on the TuneGo Web3 Marketplace as common, rare, and legendary NFTs which will unlock different kinds of artwork.

“At TuneGO, we are constantly innovating and exploring new ways to bridge the gap between creators and consumers using the untapped power of Web3,” said John Kohl, CEO of the company which connects the music industry to artists.

Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg acquired Death Row Records — the HipHop label founded by Dr. Dre and Suge Knight in 1991. Following the acquisition, Snoop Dogg announced his plans to turn it into a NFT label and proceeded to release his studio album Bacc on Death Row (BODR) as an NFT project.

Snoop Dogg is porting his real-world celebrity status to the metaverse, an immersive extension of the internet that has been linked to Web3. With digital landholdings in The Sandbox metaverse platform, he has created his very own Snoopverse, in which he sells virtual real estate.

This new song release coming as crypto winter continues to rage indicates the rapper maintains his optimism about Web3 developments.
