Ed Hones His Crypto Strategy
If the latter, I want to avoid collateral damage to my Ministerial reputation..
As Minister for Commerce I am getting loads of inputs about this. Some are urging me to put out official warnings that you’re on your own if you invest in crypto because it’s unregulated.
Obviously these warnings will only bomb the market still further.
Others are urging me to give tacit support to the ‘buy-the-dip’ brigade who are making public statements – sometimes using dimwitted celebs as spokespeople – to try to push up the market.
Seeing myself as a bit of a player I’m inclined to support the latter, and do a bit of dip-buying myself but, as a minister, I would look bad if this really is the demise of crypto and I was seen to have stood aside as our simpler fellow citizens lost their shirts.
My strategy is to hunt with the hounds and run with the hare.
Markets move in staggered phases so I have arranged to get tipped off by my crypto contacts when they’re about to launch campaigns with dimwitted celebs to push the market up – and at that time I’ll be a buyer.
Shortly before the government is going to start a blitz of publishing notices along the lines of ‘crypto is an unregulated asset and you can lose all your money without compensation’ I shall tip off my crypto contacts and we can sell out near the top of the market.
We can then prepare for the next dip.
I hope to present myself as a wise and measured elder statesman, protecting the more simple-minded citizenry, while making a bob or two out of them.
