Binance, Cardano Founders Reach Out to Ukraine; Bitcoin Donation Rises

The Russia-Ukraine crisis submerged the value of cryptocurrencies and other commodities all around the world. To help the people out of the crisis, many crypto influencers are now ready to extend help by providing cryptos as donations. Moreover, the crypto community at large is also extending support to Ukrainian citizens.

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) took the initiative to reach out to his team in Ukraine to ensure their safety. He adds that they got overwhelming support from their other colleagues in neighboring countries. 

IOHK CEO and Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson also expressed his support for Ukraine. In a 17-minute live video, he said in general, the war is really heartbreaking, where peace and love scatter. The country has been democratized since it got freedom, but now again the old situation prevails as ‘’Russia revisits the past and annexes Ukraine.’’

He also pointed out that Ukraine has a good amount of population, in which a fairly high density of  IOHK employees and contractors work. Of note, the company has employees in more than 50 countries.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin donations to Ukraine have also been effectively on track. As blockchain analytic firm Elliptic reports, over $400,000 in bitcoin was donated to an NGO named Come Back Alive. This organization provides support to Ukraine’s military forces.

So far, activists have utilized the donated bitcoins for drones (military purpose), medical supplies, facial recognition apps for identifying any Russian spies. Also, bitcoin donations keep pouring in as many are actively participating in fundraising efforts.
