Eric Andre and Frank’s Red Hot’s edible NFT is blowing fans’ minds

Eric Andre’s fans love the comedian for his weird antics. However, his recent promotion of “edible NFTs” in association with Frank’s Red Hot has evoked bizarre reactions from fans.

Towards the end of January 2022, the popular American condiment company, Frank’s Red Hot, shocked fans after announcing its first-ever “edible NFT” along with the spoof currency, “Bonecoin.”

The release came weeks before the US was preparing for the snack-heavy Super Bowl Sunday. Now, Frank’s Red Hot has got popular comedian Eric Andre on board to promote its outlandish tokens.

Eric Andre promotes edible NFTs on Instagram

Eric took to his Instagram recently to promote Frank’s new ‘edible NFT.’

The comedian is seen jokingly pouring their red sauce on top of his phone in one picture, while the second one sees him scanning the bones of his eaten chicken wings.

The caption reads, “Have you ever eaten an NFT? Me either. I just tried. And failed. But you? You can succeed. ‘Cause @franksredhot is creating the first-ever edible NFT that you can get by eating wings and scanning the bones at bonecoin.com. Eat wings, not phones.”

This isn’t the first time the 38-year-old has gotten on the NFT bandwagon. Just last year in June, he released his bizarre NFT calling it ‘Non-Flushable Turd.’

“The first NFT I created with @mayleetodd and @kyvita drops on @withFND this Saturday,” the comedian wrote at the time. The NFT is now owned by an anonymous internet user.

How do Frank’s Red Hot ‘edible NFTs’ work?

As per Frank’s Red Hot’s new campaign, from January 27 until the end of the Super Bowl on February 13, fans can scan images of their eaten chicken wing bones and earn what they call a Bonecoin.

You can do so on Bonecoin.com. The one lucky fan who accumulates the most Bonecoins gets to win Frank’s Redhot NFT, as well as its edible replica, which is being called the ‘eNFT.’

The firm’s VP of Creative & Digital, Alia Kemet, said in a statement: “We’re excited to be a first to offer an edible NFT, or what we’re calling an eNFT. What better way to enjoy football than with your own Frank’s wing art — both digital and edible.

“Frank’s RedHot keeps a pulse on the latest trends, and we are particularly excited about giving fans the opportunity to tap into the NFT space in a saucy and interactive way.”
