World Mobile Hires Ex Vodafone Head of Mass Segment Marketing as Its New CMO

  • World Mobile announces its new CMO, Steve James.
  • The decision of hiring Steve marks the company’s mission for growth in the market and user base.
  • The company intends to be among the leading blockchain companies.

The global blockchain-based mobile network, World Mobile has taken the next move on its phase of mass adoption by hifring Steve James as its new Chief Marketing Officer. In addition, he was the former Head of Mass Segment Marketing at Vodafone.

After introducing a progressive transformation in Vodafone’s mass-market proposition that paved for a significant increase in revenue and active users for the last two years, James brings record-breaking advent to an already powerful World Mobile team. CEO of World Mobile, Micky Watkins said:

Our goal has always been to achieve mass adoption. Right now, around the world, over 3 billion people have no access to the internet, banking, or digital identities because traditional, old-school networks think it’s too expensive to do anything about

He also added that the inaccessibility of the internet as it is expensive does not make a valid excuse, so the company is in its phase to connect the unconnected. For this, they need many users or people running Earth and Air Nodes on their network soon.

He further commented on James that he has joined the team for tackling these issues and had the bright side of introducing services of giffgaff, Vodafone, or O2 to a large number of people.

Before James entered World Mobile, he worked as Marketing Director at giffgaff Gameplan, Head of Mass Segment at Vodafone, Head of Brand and Advertising at Tesco Mobile, and Head of Pay & Go at 02, helping these companies to stay strong and develop the market share and user base.

It is James’s first step into the blockchain industry. Focusing on his future at World Mobile James said:

I’m very excited to join the World Mobile team. Not only are they combining humanitarian goals with a decentralized ethos that gives back to its users, but they’re the only challenger brand in the space that’s offering a radically new and fairer approach to telecoms. Honestly, it feels like the first step forward the industry has made in decades. Airbnb and Uber’s sharing economies turned entire industries on their heads and World Mobile is doing the same for telecoms, letting people earn and change the world at the same time.

The company had a successful blockchain-mobile network, especially due to partnerships with the Zanzibar government, IOHK, and Fulham FC. Moreover, it gained membership in ITU and telecoms licenses in Tanzania and Zanzibar. It is during this successful growth period James has entered the company as CMO.

In essence, the company focuses on three key things like connecting the unconnected around the world, adding values for sharing economy that supports networks, and mass adoption to bridge the digital divide.

Watkins further said that like how the company’s three-year partnership with Fulham FC rooted growth, hiring James glowed all the three key things. With a great portfolio of industry experience, growth, and passion for customer experience, James is the most valuable contributor to the company’s objectives for framing as one of the leading blockchain companies across mainstreams.

At present, more blockchain projects are focusing on crypto niches. James’s hire as CMO can establish World Mobile’s intention to lead in blockchain mainstream and connect hundreds of thousands of people in the world.
