Fableborne Announces New Preview Playtest: Sorcery Unfolds

Web3 game developer Pixion Games has announced a new preview playtest for their free to play mobile ARPG + strategy hybrid, Fableborne, and non-NFT holders might have enough time to sign up for a chance at getting selected.

What’s New in Fableborne’s Latest Preview Playtest: Sorcery Unfolds?

The new preview playtest, titled “Sorcery Unfolds”, brings with it a host of big content updates to Ronin-powered Fableborne. The new content is said to include 60 new campaign levels, new characters, and the introduction of Ability Tomes.

A glimpse of the new updates can be found in a short gameplay video embedded in the initial X announcement. The footage briefly shows some action in new areas, one of the new units, and the addition of Ability Tomes. While exact details on the new feature and all the new characters are not available at the time of writing, based on the playtest trailer, it looks like Ability Tomes are like modifiers you can equip to a character to give them a new skill to use. The example we’re given is Glint’s Tome, and anyone who equips it on Glint will get the option to exchange one of the abilities of other heroes with Solar Flare. That can potentially open up new ways to play with your favorite character. It will be interesting to see what the other Ability Tomes are like for other heroes.

When it comes to new characters, the team has publicly shared info on only one of them: the Sorceress. The Sorceress is a new Elite Unit that specializes in dark magic powers to help you bolster your defenses. According to the official X post and the dedicated Discord announcement, the Sorceress has the following 3 abilities: Homing Projectiles, Leeching/Dark Bolt, and Summon Skeletons. The first one enables auto-targeting attacks, the second is for healing by sending homing projectiles that steal enemy health on impact, while the third ability summons 4 skeletons to protect the Sorceress.

That’s all that’s been revealed to be included in this playtest at the time of writing. Here’s how you can join in to experience all the new additions for yourself.

How to Participate in Fableborne Preview Playtest: Sorcery Unfolds

To participate in Sorcery Unfolds, Fableborne’s latest Preview Playtest, which starts on March 26th at 12 PM UTC and ends on March 30th at 12 PM UTC, you will need to either be a Primordial or Kingdom NFT holder. If you don’t own any of the two eligible assets, then you might have a chance of getting chosen to participate by signing up to the Alphabot raffle that is linked in the official announcement. More than 600 players have signed up, and less than 24 hours remain before this public signup closes, so make sure to jump in while there’s still time! There are only 2 application questions to answer, and you will need to register to Alphabot to confirm your entry. One question asks for your Play Store email if you play on Android, while the other asks for your TestFlight App account email if you’re playing on iOS. NFT holders do not need to sign up to this form, but instead get guaranteed access.

If you’re an NFT holder, make sure to get your Discord role in the game’s official server in order to gain access to an exclusive channel containing a certain sign-up link. Anyone interested in becoming an NFT holder can acquire a Primordial NFT on OpenSea via Ethereum for the current floor price of 0.46 ETH. The minting for Fableborne Kingdoms NFTs took place earlier this year, and you can now find that collection on the Ronin Market for the floor price of 55 $RON at the time of writing.

It’s not specified how many limited spots are available. Given that this is more of an exclusive playtest for Fableborne NFT holders, the number of non-NFT players that will be selected will be very few. It’s also important to note that this is not Season 4, but merely a playtest to gather feedback before the actual season goes live with huge content updates for many blockchain gamers to enjoy.
